As a band Longshot Odds is just a group of guys who really enjoy getting together to play music. In order to keep doing that we have to keep writing songs so that people will keep asking us to play shows. This song is a little sour grapes middle finger to all of the local promoters and press who keep sleeping on us and the local punk rock scene here as a whole.

We’re in, we’re out, we’re underground. Misunderstood by those around us. We’ll bend but we won’t break, we’re not coming out to play today, the risks involved they far outweigh the rewards. We’re still stuck living with the discord. We’re in, we’re out of touch and bounds. But bounded to the sounds that floor us, we’ll do it ‘til you can’t ignore us. *(Well I don’t really mean to be this self-pity cacophony, but here I am. Is this who we’re supposed to be? Is this really reality? Are we doing all we can? It’s all we have, worth fighting for, it’s all we want but can’t afford. It’s all we need; you’ll ask for more. It’s all a dream.)
We’re good, we’re bad, it’s all we had. But we can’t grab the fire that feeds us. And I feel that we’re too late. We’ll succumb until that flame escapes, into the flue then dissipates above us. Right or wrong; they know how to rub us. We’re good, we’re bad, we have no chance to succeed at a life sustaining. Those lies they sold to us were draining.
